I plan on doing a Form 1 for one of my 870s before the 41p rules are supposed to take effect in Dec. Are short barrels easy to come across? Or am I going to have to get an 18" cut down?

Unless you are looking for some type of factory remington SBS sights its NOT worth the price for a 14" remington barrel.

Just whack the barrel you have and have a gold bead installed.

You can find them used online. I picked up the 14" 870 barrel with sights for about $100. The 14" 1100 barrel was about $50. One of these days I guess I need to buy an 870 and an 1100. :)

I value my life over my toys. The 870 sleeps next to me loaded. Still too long to go around any of the corner in my apartment conveniently though.

Still trying to convince my Dad to go halfs on a M16.

I bought mine from Botach several years ago, price was cheap and shipping was fast (yes, from Botach, I figure it was because I only ordered a single item that I'd called to confirm was in stock).

I bought mine from Engage Armament. They had some police trade-ins. Although it's been a while, I would give them a call and see if they have any left.

Once you have a stamp, isn't it as easy as a hacksaw a la Robert from Red Dawn?

Sure, if you don't want a front sight. As Clandestine said, that can be added afterward.

You might want to take a file to the rough edges on the cut muzzle, too.
