Pure lead brick

I once got about 750 pounds of those bricks from a scrapyard, many years ago.
They're about 3" x 4" x 8" or so, the size of a regular building brick. Pure lead, they weigh about 26 pounds.

I was told they came from a hospital, where they were used to set up X ray shielding. They could stack them up to build temporary walls as needed

They cast great Minie balls, but were a bit of a hassle to work with. I cast ingots after melting them down on a propane stove, but I had to cut them in half with a cold chisel so they would fit the pot I was using.

I had about 28 or 30 of them, and had almost used them all when I realized how useful they were for other purposes. Sometimes it's handy to have a 26 pound lead brick. I saved two of them, and keep one in each vehicle. They make decent wheel chocks, and I use one to hold my chalk line when I'm popping lines on concrete slabs.

I would guess the OP would be happy with any good clean pure lead.

i have a brick i don’t know if i ever going to use. for pistol billets i use wheel weight and 50/50 soldier to make a lynan #2

Pure is awesome for shotgun slugs as well. At an ounce or so a pop 25 pounds will make you quite a few.

Yup give or take a few, throw them over a 1 ounce trap load of red dot or promo and let em fly ,that's a boat load of fun for sure.

This thread title caught my eye.
With the MGA on the verge of banning ALL use of lead ammo for hunting,
Banning lead for target shooting is only 1-2 years away.

I wonder is people will bury lead in a cache for future use,,

Lead fishing weights are expensive a F in CA.
Any way to make wheel weight quality lead into usable sinkers? Other than a ghetto rig?

I will gladly take any of that "junk" wheelweight alloy that nobody wants.

Wheelweight alloy is good as-is and can be mixed with pure, with maybe some tin, to create whatever mix you require for any need.
