Never heard of them til I pulled these three out of a storage locker. They seem nicely made and aren't cheap online. Anyone heard of them?

Puma knives, as a company, is over 250 years old.
It is probably the cause of the good fame of Solingen Steel worldwide
They are excellent knives, though their styling is different from ours.
The long one seems to be the "Waidmannsheil":

    https://pumaknifecompanyusa.com/Pum...e-Hunting-Knife-with-Leather-Sheath-P949.aspx

The expression roughly translates to "Good Hunting"
The design is made basically to deal with what we call "Elk" or "Wapiti", while in Europe it is known as Red Deer". The uniform name is "Cervus Elaphus".

Germans have never loved the concave curve of the Bowie in hunting knives, but they do use double edged points for some tasks.

Puma makes hunting lances and swords, which is a peculiar way to hunt Boar.

Pretty good find, I would say, congrats!

    Keep well and shoot straight!

They are very solid knives. I've had my 960 Cub for almost 40 years. Handmade in Germany in 1985. Back then they Rockwell tested each knife. The mark is on the opposite of the blade

The large knife is likely not a Puma. Not at all like the link Hector posted just based on handle design.

Large one says Puma with the same logo. I'll pull the model numbers when I get time.

This is what threw me off. I was under the impression Puma were originally made in Germany, and then they shipped components (their cheaper knives) to China and Spain, but I never heard of a Japan one.
That'd cause I was having a stroke. Two are marked Germany. The big one is marked Spain.
