Definitely a mandible. But could also be from a small long nosed gar depending on location. If on the main Bay, I'd lean toward needlefish. If in a trib, then the gar.

The top pic is from an adult. Was thinking more of a juvenile, given the knife (for scale), in the OP photo. Their maxillary/mandibular shape is more similar to a needlefish than an adult.
