Pocket navigation aids which last almost indefinitely

Anybody tried these as a backup?
I looks like you need both the “Sundial” & the “Nocturnal”?
The Sundial also doubles as a compass & the Nocturnal as a tide calculator.
I had something similar many years ago & it was surprisingly accurate & repeatable.

That was my thought, both could fit in a shirt pocket.

You may not need to carry anything additional in your pocket.

Check out this solution for navigation that uses only what you can find on the ground.

That works, but is only usable at a fixed location & takes a lot of time.
