I posted last week about how great the PA process is in comparison to MD. Today I rode back to York with a couple of friends who were picking up their permits. There was a different woman working and the experience was equally good.

As everyone has said, MD could learn a thing or two about the process from PA. The thing that stands out to me is how welcoming PA is. MD makes you feel like scum for wanting a permit and PA treats you... well, like they are helping you exercise a right. There’s the “it’s easier than you think” wording on the permit website, super friendly staff at the York courthouse, accommodating hours, low cost, fast turnaround, and even a “congratulations“ email when you are approved.

Thank you Pennsylvania.

It's one of several things I miss about my home state.

Go in the morning, you'll pass the Round the Clock Diner, 2 eggs, scrapple, toast, potatoes, coffee for about $8. Can't beat that!

I'm headed up to Adams County (Gettysburg) in an hour or so with a couple buds all of us pick up today.

Easy as pie in and out in under 10 minutes all 3 of us. Got lunch and less than an hour back home.

I’m closer to Adams, but I spend time on 83 often enough it doesn’t matter.
