New Mexico’s Governor says her duty to uphold her oath to the constitution is "not absolute."
And that sir is why it is whackadoodle. There is no elected person who is this ignorant or contemptuous of the constitution who should retain their office. How's it whackadoodle? .... It's virtue signaling for political advantage, albeit in a way that's totally unconstitutional.
I can’t believe nobody has read to the end of the article where it also says,
“The governor's order on Friday also directs state regulators to conduct monthly inspections of firearms dealers statewide to ensure compliance with gun laws.
The state Department of Health will conduct a report on gunshot victims at New Mexico hospitals that includes age, race, gender and ethnicity, as well as the brand and caliber of firearm involved and other general circumstances”
Miranda Viscoli, co-president of New Mexicans to Prevent Gun Violence, praised the governor’s order as necessary in order to reduce gun violence.
"If it saves one life, then it’s worth doing," Viscoli said.
My son and I were arguing about this today. I just can’t get excited about this point. I do believe prison needs reform. The government is still authorized to have slaves, which is why they can pay prisoners 3 cents an hour.
Look at what Kamala Harris did while she was the CA Attorney General. She kept prisoners beyond their release date for the cheap labor. My son and I were arguing about this today. I just can’t get excited about this point. I do believe prison needs reform.
That I have a problem with. Prisons should not be run by for-profit businesses.Look at what Kamala Harris did while she was the CA Attorney General. She kept prisoners beyond their release date for the cheap labor.

How Kamala Harris Fought to Keep Nonviolent Prisoners Locked Up
As California attorney general, she spent years subverting a 2011 Supreme Court ruling requiring the state to reduce its prison population. The overseeing judicial panel nearly found the state in contempt of court.prospect.org

For profit prisons is a different angle. That I have a problem with. Prisons should not be run by for-profit businesses.
They should also reform people. I think if people, particularly younger offenders, were sentenced to a trade or degree and their record expunged after completion we would cut recidivism tremendously.
Doc, this should be a separate thread. There is more to this topic, prison and rehabilitation than meets the eye. That I have a problem with. Prisons should not be run by for-profit businesses.
