Working at an FFL I had seen this quite a few times. I encouraged people to include their SSN because that often filtered out the false positives.

ETA- It often went like this (making up a name)...
DeQuan Michael Jones would be denied for the background of D'Quan Michael Jones.
The same would happen with Lawrence Adam Choppie vs. Lawrence Adam Choppie Jr.
