You DO NOT have to be an AAFG member to participate. This match is lots of fun and we take our time with new shooters. You have to have a rifle and pistol or revolver that can hold 10 rounds. I just shot yesterday with a Rossi 62 pump and had lots of fun.

We limit the number of shooters to 24 at this time and you can sign up on practiscore.

    Match starts: July 24, 2022 @ 9:00 AM · Match ends: July 24, 2022 @ 1:00 PM

    Location:
    1730 Saint Margarets Rd
    Annapolis, Maryland 21409

This steel match will comprise nine stages, with an estimated round count of 120.

As always, bring plenty of .22LR ammo, a 22lr rifle and pistol. Experienced and new shooters are all welcome.

There will be 6 strings of Rimfire Challenge, 3 rifle only and 3 pistol only. Then 3 strings of two gun with rifle and pistol.

Match fee is $7 for AAFG members & Juniors, $9 for non-members. Payment taken in cash at registration.

Arrival 9am. Registration opens at 9:20am. Safety brief at 9:45.

Shooters are expected to help set up and break down.

What gear do you need to run this? belt, holster, mag pouches, or sling? Or is everything done from the top of a barrel or table?

You need a pistol that holds 10 round and a rifle that holds 10 rounds. You shoot from a standing position in front of a table and your guns are racked until you go up to the table to shoot. No other equipment needed.

Really, so no prone or kneeling ? Is it timed, eliminating bolt action rifles ? Thanks !

We have 2 different rimfire events at AAF&G. Both are timed:

    - Rimfire Steel: All shooting is from the standing position, no movement. You need a rifle and a pistol. You can use a bolt-action rifle if you wish, but you won't be competitive against a semi-auto.

    - NRL22: Rifle only, no pistol. The shooting is done from all positions with various props. Bolt action rifles are fully competitive with semi-autos.
