Newbie questions

Where is a good place for a newbie to do some weekend comps,maybe like a beginner benchrest class or similar. Not new to shooting just competitions. Oh yeah,small bore rimfire preferably rifle maybe some pistol.

Just looking for a good starting point and some direction.

Marriotsville has a junior program on the weekend I believe and they have smallbore comp once a month or so.

there are a couple of active threads discussing at least 3 pistol events this weekend. every similar event i have been to has been fully welcoming of first timers. show up, tell them you're a new competitor and they will take care of you. just bring what you have; folks will let you borrow whatever it may be that you're lacking.

read thru prior posts in this forum and you will get a good feeling for what is offered and where and when.
