New range

Read in Cecil Whig the Sheriffs department is having a range built to train officers. At the end it said it would create revenue. Has anybody heard if it would be open to public at a fee? Would be nice to get another range.

An exclusively LEO training facility Monday thru Thursday and public Friday thru Sunday makes sense to me. Plenty of counties of public ranges.

Probably means they'll rent it to other agencies for use.

Yeah, just like some of these local stadiums that the county/city government said could be used for graduations etc. when they weren't being used for minor league baseball or whatever. Once they got the support and it was built, "Sorry we lied".

Yup we can only pay but are not allowed to play, just like when I see shiny new unmarked Tahoe's grocery shopping at Walmart and at the park for softball/ baseball games. I would like to borrow a dump truck to haul off some stuff, I would even pay to put gas in it. Oh wait, we already do.

Im thinking it wont be open to the public even though all of our tax dollars funded it. Hope Im wrong.

No real surprise. I don't know of any agency in this area that has an easy time getting range time on the various shared ranges. Training venues for any kind of tactical or dynamic training are in incredibly short supply.
