-My love of a good reference book is no secret here. The latest is a new work by John G. Currie: HIgh Standard Firearms History, 1932-1984 Connecticut, A Collector's Guide. It covers everything from HS during its lifespan; derringers, rifles, shotguns, revolvers and pistols along with a fascinating history of the company and its inner workings.
-Up to this point there just wasn't much out there of any quality so this roughly 350 page soft cover is a big leap forward. Plenty of tables with SN ranges, quantities, etc. Along with detailed descriptions.
-For me, a lover of High Standard products, this one was a no-brainer. Selling up on Amazon for $89.15.

Cool ! Thanks for the heads-up. Not that I'd start a High Standard collection... that would never happen LOL.

I've managed to avoid Hi Standard firearms, and my collecting days are numbered, but this stands out as a must-have.

I only regret that it isn't offered with hard covers, which it probably deserves.

The thing about reference books, in my experience, is that the press runs are usually pretty limited, so if you don't buy it when it's in print, you'll pay heavily later, if/when you really need it.

So true... Clawson's 1911 "big book" is around $1k now, original price I think was less than $100. Unlike some other books it'll never have a reprint for a variety of reasons. Many other examples, maybe not as dramatic but close (Hallock and De Kant's The Mauser Parabellum [Luger] comes to mind).

For me the missed opportunity was Bob Adair's Unique Pistols. He did a limited run and I didn't find out about it until after the last copy was sold. Another item that I doubt will be reprinted.
