Thank you SCOTUS! I am a North Carolina native (And resident CHP holder), with work that requires me to travel either to or through Maryland quite a bit! I have always tried to avoid it the best I can, as my NC permit isn't recognized in MD (or the other ridiculous states, CA, NY, MA, etc), but I hope that is soon to be alleviated! Submitted my MD carry permit last week. I have an appointment for my DC Non Resident Concealed forthcoming middle of Sept.

    Here's the time line

    App started: 7/24
App submitted: 8/24 (after driving to MD for fingerprints and range qual at NRA Range, Fairfax, VA)
    App accepted: 8/29

We shall see how this goes! Hello all!

Hello from Federalsburg, Maryland. I'm a member of the Maryland Student Legislature, and it basically involves college students passing bills that are later sent to the legislature in Annapolis. No matter what the makeup of the State House and Senate is, we are to never give up. If we take a stand against tyranny, people will notice.

    Welcome to MDS!

Thanks! While I think that the one flaw of Bruen decision was keeping permitting schemes in place (within reason, especially overbearing ones like MD, NY, CA, etc) it was important to be one of the flooded applications to make a statement to the system! Rights delayed are rights denied, and for years the "may issue" states have counted on that to practice effectively "No Issue."

The way I look at is opinions in general change overtime. The court that kept permits in place was the same court that ruled slaves were property. Eventually, different administrations and different makeups of the judiciary will lead to changing opinions from SCOTUS, especially with some exceptions. Eventually, 34 states will have Constitutional Carry, also known as permitless carry. SCOTUS doesn't prevent state legislatures from abolishing carry permit schemes.

Thank you! Keep up the great work! I enjoy hearing of young adults getting involved in protecting our civil rights, especially the 2nd! You're spot on with your analysis too. Wise beyond your years. That'll serve you well.
