WhAt the hell kinda uppity Starbucks drinker language is “nom de plume”?
For the Punkin Dognuts crowd... it means an assumed name, used by a writer who does not wish to use their real name. :toothless

    French, for "pen name."

Benjamin Franklin used, "Anthony Afterwit," among others.

There's a guy on MDS whose nom de plume is, "Sling Blade." :innocent0

That would warrant a real weapon... not a toothpick

This toothpick will do the job with no problem.

Pretty much everyone on MDS is using a nom de plume. At least that's the way it appears to me. Accordingly, using nom de plumes to refer to others outside of MDS, or using only vague physical references, only makes sense. You have to accept nonsense in order to understand.

The only one that I can recall fo sho that did not use a nom de plume is the oft referenced Jeff G.

I really don't know what the point of this thread is.

I think the point is, the OP came across a quote from a member who has changed his screen name at some point.

Quite a few members have changed their "noms de plume" with administration approval, and quotations from their old posts appear with the old screen names.

I thought those who have transitioned were supposed to be supported, accepted, and reinforced; not outed.

    I'm confused!

    They get dead-named.

It's like a crime against humanity.
