My wife has bestowed upon me a holy mission. She has told me to find her a 9mm PCC AND set it up accordingly. God bless America and God bless American WOMEN.

I am pushing for her to consider CMMG first. I have a friend that works at PSA down here (I live in Charleston). I have a line out to him as a lower price end option.

She’s serious on weapon confidence. Price is a consideration to a point. Let’s see how she digests this link I sent to her with some info -

If budget allows, the Sig MPX is really hard to beat these days. Very soft recoil impulse and solid factory trigger.

My buddy has one with easily 20k rounds through it with minimal care and only periodic cleaning.

Well she didn’t seem to blink at the CMMG. She said whatever you think is best and we’ll talk in more detail. She’s been killing it at work recently. She’s maxed her 401k and is smart as hell with the money. We use my wage as living expense and hers goes to some, but mostly socked away for vacations and such. Frivolities. This is the first time she’s said I need something other than my 590A1 (which she dominates) and her Glock 19 (which she’ll make any proud man sweat). She’s a good one she is. North Harford girl.

I don’t know if she’s wanting to go quite so high. She wants to invest in some more 9mm food as well, never can have enough. So I’m really not fighting her at all. The CMMG is probably the highest price point I personally would throw on us. Then we come to dots, folding braces, mags, light and pressure pad, etc. Trying to avoid too much sticker shock.

I just got beat outta first in a 3-gun match by a fellow shooting PCC class with an MPX with a Timney trigger in it … I was shooting pistol only … listening to his double tapping sounded like one long shot instead of two … I used to snicker about Sig really being spelled $ig but, next time I see him Immagunna ask dry fire that sucker …

(of course when I get home wifey will report she had “one o’ those chills” run up the back of her neck that always somehow alerts her I am am getting to blow money on another gun! :-O

OP, I was gonna say splurge for an AR in 9mm (we have two each CZ micros and Stribogs and SUB2K’s but, the wife is only interested in “her” Colt AR in 9 …. liiiiight weight!) but,

I am reserving any comment until I (and she) can handle that MPX ….

The AR is a top contender, I’m definitely wanting roller for her. It’ll be a forever hers gun. We can talk MPX but again, we must not scare this mysterious creature.

The MPX stock trigger is a Timney trigger. Unsure if that is what they were using but I'd bet it was.

I am prob the furthest thing from a Sig fanboy that you can get. I hate them in so many ways but I would be lying if I said the MPX wasn't exceptionally good.

I see little value in a direct blowback AR9, but that's just my opinion.
I agree. At this point in time, nobody should by a direct blowback PCC. There are too many good option out there with some kind of delay on the action.

I just built a CMMG rattler except in 45 ACP for my wife. Their delay blowback bolt system is smooth. No gas tube. 8.5 in barrel, waiting for suppressor stamp. This is her target at 20 yards.

I like the Century a lot, but my bride is very comfortable with AR controls. I don’t want to throw a new weapons system on her. So I’m hoping when we talk tonight, she’s down for the Banshee. I’d like an 8” for her. I feel she couldn’t get comfortable scrunched in behind a small frame like a 5”. I just kinda know how she is about shooting and and then learning new controls. She does what she does really well already.
