Not exactly car "jacking" per se. But I will add my son and daughter in law's one car to the almost stolen from by their house in Riverside ( I think the area is called) Her Hyundai Veloster sustained a broken window and jacked up steering/starting areas but something caused the would be thief from taking it. Glad that neither of them was present which could have led to them being physically injured or worse.

Having worked extensively in those wards and dealing with residents on a one-on-one basis,
NOT SURPRISED
And the delineation between DC and PG in that area is merely a line on a map.

Had an inspector working on a project have his car stolen literally across the street from him while he watched.
I was on a site one day where a gang related gun battle erupted one block away.
Watched a murder on the next block down.
Found two bodies.
Had a gun thrown out the window of a passing car into a hole we were excavating.
Few other situations as well inside of 12 months.
