well v. Connecticut, 310 U. S. 296, 305 (1940)—features that typify
proper-cause standards like New York’s. That said, because any permit-
ting scheme can be put toward abusive ends, we do not rule out constitu-
tional challenges to shall-issue regimes where, for example, lengthy wait
times in processing license applications or exorbitant fees deny ordinary
citizens their right to public carry."

We need some gpvernment.

We need a government to deal with other nations' governments.

We need government to protect the individual citizen from sociopaths and psychopaths, on both a minor and major scale:

The minor scale would apply to individual and small bands of criminals, who may need to be removed from society for society's sake. In more civilised times, a lot of these were executed, saving the citizens from recidivism, and the treasury from the expense of housing them.

The major scale of protection would be from the sociopaths who control large corporations and the like, whose capability to skew the playing field to the economic disadvantage of the citizenry is constrained by laws against monopolies and other economic engines.

What we lack, and desperately need, is a mechanism to protect us from the sociopaths who run the government for their own advantage, and for the satisfaction of their lust for power. That was part of the purpose for the Second AMendment, but the government has grown and metasticised to the point that the cartridge box is insufficient for the purpose.

So true. The tone-deafness is astounding.

I was up at this Costco yesterday. I saw a MoCo Police Car driving around the lot and there was a uniformed officer standing at the entrance to the Costco inside.

We're at the point where people who wanted to defund the police and supported leadership which wanted that now realize that they want police around for safety and can't understand why they aren't around enough.

We're approaching the 90 day "required" turnaround for a DC Concealed Carry Permit.
