Likely not. Her property backs up to big woods near the Nanticoke in Bethel DE. I'm sure the mom is close by. She texted me and said it was gone this evening .

A few years back I had a doe leave her twin fawns in the shade under my birch tree for an afternoon. Mom grazed around the whole yard and the babies never tried to follow. I was happy that they felt that safe there.

That's awesome! We have a bunch critters around here. Their stay is usually short. My Jack Russells keep a tight patrol in the yard.

No way to get pics, as it was probably several hundred yards off, but got to hear a great "hoot-off" this afternoon.

At least two (maybe three) Barred Owls arguing, and a Great Horned Owl telling them "knock it off, I'm sleeping"...

    ;)

This Northern Black Widow female had taken up residence in a tarp that I had outside for a few months. There was also the beginnings of a yellowjacket nest in one of the folds that was abandoned. Pretty sure the abandoned nest is related to the BW.

Not my video, but a good one if you don't like yellowjackets.

    Just the one hen?
That's it. My neighbor spotted it at her birdfeeder, pecking around the ground. My daughter and I were driving back into the neighborhood a few minutes later and there it was.

Since we are fortunate enough to live in such a beautiful part of the country, we should have a thread about what ther eis to see here in Maryland. Sit back, relax, and enjoy why we are still here. Now go out and take some pictures!

I'll start, nothing professional, but a few of my favorites I took:
