Mine wouldn't be in the neighborhood long enough to light the fire.My wife would burn down the neighborhood if she saw snakes that close, ESPECIALLY a copperhead.

Watkins?
when i first bought my house there was a giant brush pile at the bottom of the hill. i had the back hoe there pushing it around to clean it up and a snake came out and i about jumped off the tractor. thing was at least 7ft. i was in disbelief lolWhen I was a kid, on my aunts farm. Dad was a city boy and went for a walk with me. I saw the largest black snake of my life. Estimated 9' long and 1 1/2" thickness, or more, in the middle. It was sunning on the wood "trash" pile. It tried to run and I grabbed the backend and trying to pull it out. Dad yells "what the hell are you doing?" I said If I get it out I can take it home. He says "like hell you are. You might as well let it go now!" Dad didn't understand the boy they used to dump in the country over the summers.
looks like I need to get out there and photograph themNot great nor close up pics but 2 different Osprey Nests near where I boat in Ocean City (Ocean Pines).
It was mentioned here on MDS the great Migration map but here is a refresher:
Osprey Tracking Maps
CBF's Osprey Tracking Project allowed students and teachers to track birds—ones they had seen during field experiences at CBF education centers—from their home and classroom computers.www.cbf.org

But, we are now seeing summer in full swing!

Doubt it. Neck and legs appeared all grey.Painted maybe? It is nesting season.
Not really. Wood turtle shells have a 'lip' around the rear. I'm sticking with painted.Doubt it. Neck and legs appeared all grey.
ETA:
OK... Shell shape, growth plates, etc. look closest to a Wood Turtle, which I don't think I've ever seen before!
