MD HQL Class - Sunday February 16, 2014
Based on guidelines from the Maryland State Police, we've added a Maryland Law specific module to meet the Maryland requirements for the Handgun Qualification License (HQL) training to our Basic Handgun Owner class. This training will take at least 4-hours to complete and includes the required range time. For our class, each student will be required to demonstrate safe gun handling skills, the ability to load/unload a magazine and to fire a minimum of 28 rounds.
Each student will fire:
six (6) rounds from a single action revolver
six (6) rounds from a single/double action revolver (in single action mode)
six (6) rounds from a single/double action revolver (in double action mode)
ten (10) rounds from a semi-automatic pistol
at a stationary target at 21 feet (7 yards) in accordance to the guidelines set forth by the Maryland State Police.
Each student while recieve a certificate of attendance to be used in filing/applying for the Maryland Handgun Qualification License.

Our Instructors are Maryland Handgun Qualification Instructor License (QHIL) or Certified (QHIC) approved by the Maryland State Police.
This course is not meant to teach you how to shoot. It is a basic handgun familiarization and orientation course that meets the minimum requirements to buy a regulated handgun in
Maryland. Having said that, at the end of this course you will know the basic fundamentals of how to safely save your life with a handgun and more importantly what questions to ask
with regard to what kind of gun to buy, what kind of advanced training is available, what to look for in a training course and in an instructor.
This course also meets the statutory live fire training requirements for both Virginia and Florida Non-resident concealed carry permits as well as the Maryland Handgun Qualification License.
