resource officer in my HS when i attended back in the day didn't know his guns caliber when i asked him on the spot.

I was talking about SRO's. Theres gotta be a reason they have that detail
Maybe that officer didn't want to "talk guns" with some punk kid and just wanted you to walk away?

Your "Resource officers run during a mass shooting" is a cheap shot.

LOL please. Do you enjoy kissing boots bro?

Idk of any RO saving the day but rather responding officers. Their detail includes a lot of escorts to the principle office and confiscating packs of smokes and weed.

That detal just screams either im on way out for retirement or I'm not good at actual patrolling.

Thank you for your service mr RO
Since you're apparently still attending high school I guess you're better informed than I am. Bro.

BS. You have no idea what good SROs do or how they might respond.

I presumed most of us had gotten out of High School A LONG time ago.

Others never seem to leave. :)
You ever see the Rob Lowe series of commercials? I think there's a 'peaked in high school Rob Lowe' version. I forgot what was being advertised but they were amusing.

It's everybody's responsibility and fault except the student's and parent's.
My wife is creeping up on 30 years teaching in public schools.
I love it when she hears people scream about the racial disparity within the public school classrooms.
She makes black kids wear ear muffs during instruction and she doesn't give hispanic kids text books and ignores everyone but lilly whites.
    Stupid shit.

    Highlights;

"Some parents think the answer to curbing student substance use is for the Police Department to put school resource officers, or SROs, back into schools.

At the start of the 2020-21 school year, the county replaced SROs with a new safety model using community engagement officers, or CEOs. Currently, CEOs are stationed in strategic geographic areas near schools so that they’re poised to respond to campus incidents as necessary.

Christine Deerin, mother of a B-CC sophomore, told MoCo360 she believes SROs need to be reinstated."

    That one needs re-education!

"Jawando told MoCo360 that he doesn’t believe SROs would solve safety issues or student substance use. Instead, he said MCPS needs to embrace a more “integrated approach” by focusing on increasing mental health resources and accessibility to support.

“When you have the right set of social supports, it reduces antisocial behavior,” he said."

Anything but 1 Mommy and 1 Daddy, eh 'Wando?
Back in the mid-70's in middle school we were smoking cigarettes in the boys room. Smoking weed in the dugout at lunch time. High school had drug dealing all over the school. My sub-school principal, my year group, had a collection of confiscated roach clips, pipes, bongs and other paraphernalia. Most of us grew up to be contributing members of society.

To commemorate Asian American and Pacific Islander Month, which has been established in May since 2009, the AAMHI is hosting a free virtual panel discussion from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday called “Model Minority Myth: Implications and Strategies to Counter.” Students and families will be invited to listen as local experts discuss the unique discrimination and stereotyping Asian American students often face.

Renting a U-Haul, ramming the WH barricades with a Nazzy flag seems like a good start!

Sounds like a massive pity party to promote hate and discontent in a ethnic group. They should turn these meetings around, agenda wise, and start off with why we are a good and great ethnic group and not why are we being discriminated upon.

When you constantly tell a child that they suck and they won't be a success they soon start to believe it.

'Montgomery County Public Schools will be implementing new safety policies in response to the recent spate of student drug overdoses. In January, five students died from opioid overuse."

Did I miss the Teacher's Union sponsored day of rage protests and walkouts over this?

    "It's for the kids!"

MAN, that was a mouthful of truth in a few short statements.

I am betting that many of our forum members wish I could express my many thoughts in such succinct style.

WOW, a whole hour discussion VIRTUALLY at that.
Talk about feeling placated to as a diminished segment of citizenry.

If I were Asian Polynesian etc I would say FU to these sanctimonious SOB's

When you constantly tell a child that they suck and they won't be a success they soon start to believe it.

This is one of the WORST plans for the future of our country and even the world at large. BUT, the avalanche is barreling down as we speak. Self pity and blame whitey is the new M. O.

What sucks is the men and women who have the fortitude to spread the Gospel of Self reliance, Self Improvement, and Prosperity, are demonized and met with heavily funded corruption, Gestapo like tactics from the current Administration, Weaponized DOJ, and Lemming like behavior from the Socialist Leftists.

I am all for good and hard working Asians, Africans, Hispanics, Europeans, etc becoming Citizens of the USA, BUT these need to be LEGAL and pledge their allegiance to America and the principles it was founded on, just like our ancestors.

All people suck. While, black, Asian, don't matter. The world taught me that; didn't need to hear it in school.
