I knew military service would come in handy some day.
So true. My Army time had it's ups and downs.
    It's paying off now though.

Feel bad for the experienced non-vet folks who have to sit through and pay for the training.

If I'm requesting a modification to remove restrictions on my current permit , will I need to provide references and employment info again? Or do they just need a reason?

Anyone still getting the "your application has timed out. you will need to log in again" message. I am and haven't been able to get on since Hogan's announcement.

I logged on yesterday afternoon (still submitted, not accepted yet), but your error message is all I've been getting this morning.

I submitted my complete application on 6/27 and it is still in the submitted stage.
    Same.

I really don't feel sorry for them having to endure the onslaught of applications.

For YEARS, MSP has been smugly saying that the permit process isn't that bad, because 'the majority' of applicants are approved, while knowing that the procedure is so onerous and exclusive as to discourage almost everyone who didn't need it for work. Most people realized they'd never get approved and didn't bother to apply. Now, with a realistic shot at approval, the average citizen can finally expect success and floodgates are open. If we are proportional to other states, they can probably expect another half-million applications.

I dropped a note to the Honorable Fat Larry :puke2:suggesting that it would be good for whatever campaign he may have in the future if he hired some temp help for MSP to process the applications. :D

FWIW, the MSP responded to my "you charged me twice and didn't even put me in submitted state" with "yes, we know things are broke, including that... we're working on it". Annoying, but ultimately, they probably didn't plan on the system getting slammed like this. Yelling at the dude on the line isn't going to help.

They didn't plan on it, really? A blind person with a blindfold on could've seen this avalanche of applications coming.

No, no, they approve almost all the applications that are submitted. They were meeting current demand. The people of MD do not have interest in CCW.

LOL, yeah. Two million permits between PA and VA and somehow we don't want to exercise our right here...

In all fairness, Maryland has more than its fair share of weenies.

I dropped a note to the Honorable Fat Larry :puke2:suggesting that it would be good for whatever campaign he may have in the future if he got rid of all the subjective baloney that other shall issue states don't do like employer checks and references etc. aka streamline the process. hired some temp help for MSP to process the applications. :D
    Fixed

Now we will find out how long it actually takes them to process a permit. Probably a couple of days, an hour or less if they drop references and interviews.

All these years they have been taking the entire 90 days just to be dicks. They probably will still wait close to 90 days before sending it out or actually marking it as approved.
