    Hello Everyone,

Just want to to reach out and keep everyone informed about the new series that will be hosted at Quinton Sportsman Club and Bridgeville Rifle and Pistol Club. Many of you have already shot a Tactical Bench rest Match. I am please to inform you that it has been incorporated into the Modern American Rimfire Series. There has been a lot of interest from other clubs. We anticipate rapid growth in the short term. Clubs that are currently showing interest are not just local. We have had inquiries from clubs out to Oklahoma. Five to six clubs in Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Virginia may be starting to hold matches as well. So we may see some very interesting things on the horizon.

Mike McCourt and myself will be the series co-directors. We both hold the same mindset and desires to grow the shooting sports and provide an environment where everyone can learn, compete, and enjoy shooting sports.

For those of you that are not familiar with the Tactical Bench Rest format. Shooters shoot the same course of fire as a precision rimfire match, just from the bench. A standardized set of rules is being established and is still in work. We should have it finalized shortly.

Our hope for this series is to give shooters who do not want to or are unable to shoot from props a place to have some friendly competition. Mike and I are keenly focused on the growth of our sport. We see this type match as a less intimidating and more safe way for shooters to enter rimfire competition. It provides a space for shooters to learn their reticle, holdovers, and develop their d.o.p.e. with more confidence. New shooters can develop better shooting fundamentals from a stable platform instead of bad habits from an unstable barricade. Juniors can better enjoy the sport without having to move a heavy rifle or shoot off of a barricade the is to high for them.

Anyone who has already participated in one or more Tactical Bench Rest Matches has until February 28, 2023 to join the Modern American Rimfire Series (MARS). Shooters joining MARS prior to the February deadline will receive series points earned from all matches shot in 2023. All series points from 2023 will be added to the Tactical Bench Rest Scoreboard on the MARS website. Shooter who join MARS after February 28, 2023 will forfeit all previous scores. Series standings will be based on your top three scores using scores from at least two different clubs.

The Tactical Bench Rest Championship will be held at Bridgeville Rifle and Pistol Club on September 2nd.

Match dates and times are posted on www.practiscore.com

Look forward to seeing you all at the range.
