I bought a K98 and would like to put some rounds through it. Any shops have some ammo in stock? I don't need anything fancy. Prvi Patrizan, surplus, whatever.

Turkish ammo in bandoleers has never failed to fire in many of my 8mm Mauser bolt guns.

There's some really crappy 8mm out there, but it's not made by the Turks.

The stuff is corrosive. Clean well after your done shooting.

Turk is fine in bolt actions, just don't use it in semi-autos. I've had 700 rounds of turk shot through my German K98k. It shot great, no hangfires and accurate but sometimes would take some extra force to unlock the bolt to extract. I'm myself looking for some yugo 8mm from the 70s or newer. It's some of the best stuff out there and it can run through my Hakim

If running Turk 8mm through your K98k, always check your action screws and make extra sure everything's snug. I mean, always check them anyway, but some Turkish 8mm runs hot and stocks can split at the tang. I'll just say I know this, and leave it at that.

As for why I posted stay away from Turk ammo. The stuff in the Country now is CR@P. For what the price is you can find Greek or PPU.

This is great 8mm too. And not expensive either.

Scoped 1938 Turkish Mauser carbine that I built.

    This!
This post also reminds me, I’m down to my last case of Yugo 8mm. :o
It’s the best stuff I ever shot in my Hakim

South Carroll usually has some 8mm ammo- they'll be at Frederick Gun Show this weekend.
(He usually has a Mauser or two on the rack)
