I'm looking for some older muzzle devices that are discontinued by the manufacturer.

First, I'm looking for a discontinued Surefire MB556AR brake (pic) to go with an older Surefire reflex suppressor. The MB556AR I already have is pinned and welded to a 14.5 Noveske Afgan at the moment. I doubt I can get it off there without destroying the brake (or can I?). I've searched high and low for one of these brakes and cannot find one anywhere. Any offline source that could work? Ideas for searching for/procuring one?

    Thanks for any assistance/pointers.

Pinned and welded MAY just mean drilling out the pin, maybe heating enough to break off silver solder used for “welding.”

But good luck looking for the brake otherwise.

    This^^^
I've removed P&W brakes before and was able to reuse the brake very easily. Just make sure it is a straight in pin and not a 'bypass' pining.

    Thanks for the replies.

If the pin is "offset", would that indicate a 'bypass' pin? I'll have to break out the upper and have a look.

    I appreciate the responses.

I would think so. Do you know who did the pinning? It would be a very tricky job to drill out that or those pins without destroying the brake. I've always Dremeled the brakes off. Maybe Chad could save your brake, if that is the case.
