Why would you want to fire with a LAW folder open, you are putting faith in a little piece of metal that sticks up 1/4". Get a BRN 180 upper and endplate aadapter.

Why are you assuming that 1/4" piece of steel that is for retaining a normal AR carrier has anything to do with this carrier?
If that steel finger was what retained the AIRC, with the stock closed, the finger would retract and the bolt would travel rearward into the buffer tube. OBVIOUSLY, thats not the case.

Well if you look at the design there is a little tab at the top of the rear buffer adapter, there is literally nothing but it being wedged between the top of the buffer hole and the folding stocks stop gate no screws, no pins just a floating assembly, not even a screw in end cap. Are you willing to put that up in front of your face and run couple of hundred rounds through it where chamber pressures reach 60000 PSI per shot.
I have seen these, I got the email from Brownells also, and I have a LAW folder on one of my ARs. There aren't many reviews on it yet. It would be nice to see a few before I upset a working firearm for a minor convenience of being able to shoot with a stock folded.
I asked if this would work with my CMMG Banshee and here is the answer I got.

We are not familiar with the 9mm Delayed Blowback systems from CMMG and have no testing data for it.
The ARIC Bolt is not compatible with 9mm systems due to the bolt face differences, I due not know if the 9mm Delayed Blow Back Bolt would work with ARIC.

The two systems are very different to the point of re-engineering would be a necessity.

I own several and have a lot of time with the product.
If you buy one think about the ammo you will use. If you don't and just buy one without thinking it through, you may have issues. The difference in the product are in the venting ports. The springs on different models are the same so there is no "tuning" options at this time.
Keep it well lubed.
Titanium firing pins will extend the life of the firing pin retaining pin.
Some uppers won't play nice if the upper receiver bore isn't smooth or there are burrs at the forward assist junction inside the upper.

Overall, reliable enough for a go-to rifle? A folder as a SHTF rifle has some obvious benefits.

You're welcome.
If you use the right ammo and lube the gun as it should be, you should have no issues assuming the host gun it built correctly. I have one in my EDC AR.
I let students test them out when we do the live fire portion of the class.

Chads endorsement is is comforting but it looks like it is not a drop in and go have fun. Based on what he said this is not not a beginner or intermediate skill level part that anyone can drop in and expect for it perform flawlessly. Between physical issues with buffer bore and possible physical issues with forward assist. For someone that does not know what to look for will be chasing gremlins for a long time when there is a alternative while not the cheapest option it at least has a manufacturer to hit up when it does not work right for the beginners and some intermediates, the BRN-180 upper.
