She is mid twenties, responsible, and bright.

Wants to hunt deer, no interest in firearms.

    Lives in Essex area.

    Taking Hunter Safety now.

Would like to find a club where she would get help learning to hunt.

    Any suggestions?

I would have thought by now a bunch of MDS'er would have been tripping over each other to offer help.:D All I can say towards a lack of response is it is probably do to her age and lack of interest in firearms.

Might try the same question over on MarylandWhitetail.com. A few of us are over there too and it is mostly about hunting/bowhunting.

There is a MD dnr bow hunting class. She might want to consider taking that also. Its more geared toward bow hunting.

Here's another one to maybe have a look at. They're not totally hunting oriented and we have met a couple of the members through my wife's club:

Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) is a non-profit, educational program offering hands-on workshops to adult women. We encourage a supportive environment conducive to learning, making friends, and having fun. No experience is necessary and BOW is for women of all ages and fitness levels.

Baltimore Bowmen is a club that promotes bow hunting and may be able to provide some insight. They are located on Harford Road across from the gunpowder military reservation.

They are also sponsoring a traditional (longbow and recurve) 3D shoot this month, 15th - 17th. Lots of fun, 80 targets on 3 courses, vendors, food.

    Here's a link for those interested: http://www.baltimorebowmen.com/trad.htm
