Palmetto has these on sale for $299 which seems like a killer price.

I have seen and heard some info that says these can be finicky about ammo choices (ie. light primer strikes and FTE's mainly) This would be used almost exclusively as target pistol but I really don't want to futz around with something that's potentially going to be a jam-o-matic that I can only shoot specific brands and bullet weights of ammo out of.

I would greatly appreciate hearing from any of you guys that have personal experience with this gun or know someone that has one.

    Thanks.

I love mine. It did go back to the mother ship once in the beginning for some feed issues but has been pretty reliable since. I don't use cheap 22wmr.

I’ve got a pile of Mcarbo upgrades for the PMR30 if anyone is interested, I’d make a good deal on them. New, sold my PMR30 before installing.

On that note. I had a PMR30 and it was great, zero issues in stock form. Only sold it when the new S&W 22WMR came out, because I didn’t like the “plastic-y” feel of the Keltec.

    Juuuuust over the line
I have one, about 2018 vintage. When I first got it I don't think it made it all the way through two full magazines. On three separate occasions, it blew out the back end of the cartridge casing, almost like an OOB discharge. Once I could attribute to bad ammo, twice made me suspicious, the third time and back home it goes. I contacted the factory, they sent me a shipping label to return it. When I got it back, I think they said they replaced the barrel and the slide, under warranty. It has run perfectly ever since, hundreds of rounds of all kinds of ammo. It especially seems to like 40 grain Armscor JHP. Lots of fun, who doesn't like fireballs?

Interesting, that's the only ammo I haven't tried.

I think I read somewhere that KelTec specifically advises against Armscor ammo, but I may try some anyway.

I did order the PMR30 from Palmetto and it should arrive on Saturday or Monday at the latest, and I can't wait to try it out.

BTW Mike, I decided to pass on the upgrades Hibs is offering because I really want a V2 feed ramp and his is V1, so if you're interested message him.

Is there a difference in the feed ramp or is there a difference in the gun it fits?

The difference is in the feed ramp itself, not the gun it fits. Both versions are designed for the PMR30 exclusively as far as I know.

V2 has a "split" ramp to help facilitate smooth and reliable feeding from the double stack magazine with the widest available ammo choices.

Think of it as an M4 feed ramp concept applied to the PMR30.

It is a really good price for sure. Mine is scheduled to arrive on Monday and I hope to range test it soon after. I will try to come back here and post an honest assessment of it when I have a chance.

BTW, I am just curious but what part of West by God are you in..?? After 33 years in FredCo the wife and I moved to the Keyser area late last year and we are lovin' it here so far.

I looked in my owner's manual and it only mentions a couple of types of Winchester ammo to avoid. I've used various Rem, CCI, etc and all worked fine including some 30 grain Hornady that someone gave me a couple of boxes because they were getting out of .22 WMR.
