I had a P9 many years ago. It might still be in the safe, come to think of it. Snappy little shooter, but accurate and easy to carry. I’d buy another Kahr.

I had both a CM9 and CW9…both were decent pistols for the money but it came down to the fact I don’t like double action only pistol actions. I ended up selling both and replaced them with a Kimber Micro 9 Which is a mini-1911.

I've had a CW9 in the collection for years.

Would I buy another one? - Nope
Why did I buy the one I have? - It was on sale for super cheap.
Is it a bad gun? - Nope, just doesn't do anything better than a number of other guns.

To me it's like a drawer gun/stash gun. You toss it in an area like your garage if you want something available in a pinch.

I had a PM9 a while ago (2006-2008). I loved it for the size and weight. However, as mentioned above, it was a snappy gun. I thought the trigger was very long and heavy and was not a huge fan of it overall. With that said, I had about 2000K rounds downrange with it and it always went bang.

I got mine before the single-stack Glocks were a thing. I still have not replaced my Kahrs with a G43, and I'm otherwise a Glock guy. Of course I may start carrying finally, then we'll see which one wins...

Things to like: basically a Glock, but without the weird trigger safety. A long, smooth trigger pull with a crisp break. I actually love the trigger.

The crappy: the magazine lips are awful, the top round just slops around. No feeding issues, it just seems like bad engineering. And racking the slide is not for the slight of hand, it's a very tight recoil spring.

I can tell no difference between the two Kahr versions in 9mm, in fact the cheaper one has been slightly more reliable.

bought and sold a few (in the biz) but never kept one for myself,

did have a friend (RIP) that loved them,

the Stainless all steel guns are bricks,

if it matters in this discussion, the Kahr's in general are a tough resell, folks that buy them, obviously know what they are, but a lot of folks do not, or have never heard of them,

I have a PM9 and CW380. Main thing is they are light slim single stack pistols, and do carry well. Decent sights, they can be reliable, my PM9 feeds everything, the CW380 is a little ammo finicky with some HPs. The PM9 is the "premium" poly frame small 9mm, the CM9 is the "budget" series, only 1 mag, cheaper build, but essentially the same pistol, but save $250. My CW380 is the cheap version of the P380, it is about the smallest/lightest 380 made. For their size/weight recoil is decent, and they are very shootable and accurate. The full stainless models are pointless, really heavy, pretty much only for luddites that want a metal frame and true DAO trigger for no other reason than they believe firearms design peaked in the 90s.

The controls consist of a mag release and large takedown pin/ slide stop. The slide stop is easy to reach, to field strip the pistol take it out with the slide pulled back a little, pull the trigger, and the slide comes off. Take out the uncaptured coax recoil springs and barrel, and it's all set for cleaning/ lube. The trigger is a love it/hate it design. Basically a smooth 7# full length pull and reset. It's essentially a good DA revolver trigger, unlike GLOCK's short reset design, the Kahr trigger required a full reset, and it doesn't have a 2 stage feel, just a long smooth pull. For those that remember true DAOs and DA revolvers it's familiar and relatively good and light, but the long reset and lack of a 2nd stage make it slower than most newer designs.

It does work well in smaller pistols, but is a little slow in larger model. I still carry the CW380 in a pocket being it's so small, and shoots better than bodyguards and LCPs. It is still a valid choice and is still about the smallest 380 you can get. The PM9 isn't all that much smaller than newer designs like the G43, or even small double stacks like the P365. With 6 rounds in flush mags it's comparable to a GLOCK43, or single stack shields and XDs pistols. IMO the service caliber models aren't the best choice anymore, most micro double stacks are far more capable.

Many years ago when BPD transitioned from .38spl to 9mm, several different guns were initially approved as carry guns for off duty. Kahr 9mm was on that list… until a few of them literally fell apart while the owners were qualifying with them at the range.

That was in the early 1990s. I hope they’ve improved. But I don’t trust them to this day.

I have a K9 with wood grips and a factory extended 4in compensated barrel. Runs like a swiss watch. Gonna be my first conceal piece when I get my permit. Eats every type of ammo I give it. I just didn't like the factory rear sight that has a white dot that sits below the front sight dot when you lined up the sights. Replaced it with a traditional 2 dot rear sight

It’s long and spongy compared to a glock, but it is predictable. I dont have any real complaints, it is what it is.
You haven't felt long and spongy until you shot a SCCY. Do you remember those aluminum, outer space toy ray guns that shoot sparks when you actuate the trigger? Yes. That bad, but not as fun.

Good News - Well made solid guns

Go Either Way - Trigger is more like DAO revolver than a Glock

Go Either Way - Steel frame guns are heavy , polymer are light . Easy to carry vs soft recoil for it's size vs snappy , your pick

Go either Way - Trigger reach - very short . Great for the size challenged , sucks if your glove size is XL or larger .

And then there's the whole Religious Cult thing. ( Kahr is owned by the Unification Church .)

    Where they send me.
I don't think Karh is owned by the church (if so, Desert Eagle, Auto Ordinance, BFR, and several others are as well). His dad runs the church but I don't think the two cross businesses.

I carried both the P9 and PM9. The P9 stayed with me for 15 years, the PM didn't last a year due to how snappy it was. The P9 was my summer carry and I sold it when I switched to the Sig P365 for the extra ammo.

Never had a problem with the Kahr and the trigger was one of the smoothest out there. My Kahrs were both very accurate for short barrels.

anyone here have one or shot one?
looking at the CW45 or CW9 really like them

    thanks for the help
I have both the K40 and the CM40 for 10 years now. very accurate, and well made. I use both as my CCW. The CW45 and CW9 both have a lot less recoil than the 40s.
