It's not just 'progressives' . Harford County politicians have been in the developers pockets for decades. One was quoted years ago saying we have to have more development to pay for the water and sewer infrastructure we put in for the last development. The school system proposed a new school to alleviate overcrowding at Prospect Mill Elem. That was shot down when the state politicians were told NOT to request funding for it. Instead a new school was funded to service an area in the Fallston district where there was a development moratorium because those schools were overcrowded.
Voila! Suddenly a favored developer was now allowed to break ground and build houses on property he owned in that school district. Politics as usual.

Article claims the progressive politicians are really just puppets of the local developers. Fools are being used by big money for their own enrichment while the county gets turned into a overdeveloped, sewer.

I see this up in Frederick County off 26 where the Wegmans is located. My in-laws live near that Walmart and all the land behind it is being quickly built into condos/apts. - more moenies for Walmart. I make comments that Walmart must be subsidizing some to get more monies after.

Well let's not forget Hogan is/was a developer, and just a few months back purchased a large home and some business parks.

And let's not forget the party with Mosby and other developers.

Yep. My MIL use to live in Wormans Mill years ago. Nothing else around. Look what’s going in off Willow Road on the left side of 15 north. Another “planned” 10 year build. Amazing how just 10-15 years ago there was a moratorium on building permits due to a water shortage. Suddenly we got water out the arse!

That fits in with the anti-Elrich commercial making its rounds on YouTube. It says that Elrich is in the pocket of the developers and is against affordable housing. This sounds like the left it eating its own.

Many here on MDS are alredy aware of how much I LOVVVVVVVVE those heart-warming, fvcking watercolor “aerial renditions” of planned hood’s … they NEVER show prospective sucke, err, buyers where the subsidized housing SHALL BE going. (For that one must get past the reception counter at the Planning and Zoning office … )

I saw that earlier in the week. That’s high density development back there too. I hope Frederick County understands how that impacts infrastructure, schools, etc…

Actually, developers and politicians share the same goal: money.

Politicians love the money brought in by the tax farms that the developers create; developers love the money they get for building and selling them.

The real puppets are the folks who keep voting for these folks, then complain about traffic, urban sprawl, and deteriorating neighborhoods.

Agreed, I must admit developers generate jobs and revenue which if done responsibly with oversight it can be a positive for everyone. My issue is how they fund the political machines which in turn create these awful policies, regulations and laws that we don’t want.

Sadly the majority of people are not fed the truth on what is being legislated and blindly follow a political party only because it’s the one they identify with without really being objective in doing a constant self check of who and what they align with.

My position is leave me alone and stop legislating what I can’t do and start legislating protections of my God given rights. If you cannot do that then leave the Constitution alone.

Land is a commodity that does not grow and as the population expands this relationship of greed and power between politicians and developers becomes more of a threat to freedom and liberty unless kept in check.

That entire area around Route 26 from 15 to past the Monocacy River has always been a flood plain. More than once after heavy rains the area floods and Walkersville gets cut off from Frederick. Several times the bridge over the river has been underwater.

What was done drainage-wise to allow development in the area I don’t know but knowing the history of the area I would not choose to live there.

Progressive = the new name that the Socialists are hiding behind.

Soros and others like him, are building their Liberal World Order. Look no further than them for what’s funding the Progressives.

Hopefully this will slow down in Frederick County if (when) Mike Hough becomes County Executive. Still counting mail-in ballots but he has a comfortable lead of 8,800 votes. I think there's 16,000 ballots left to count. *fingers crossed*

Have you seen the housing developments building around each Costco? Who funded that?
