Another one of Ivan’s brothers demanded range time today. These Mosins are SO pushy.

*****OMG please tell me you used a nice and comfy recoil pad, and you were wearing a shooting jacket with tons of pockets filled with snacks and stuff so people know you are an operator, and only took that pic to impress chicks! That just looks painful! :shocked4:

I'm going to have to one day do a side by side comparison but I do have an M44 and M38. M38 shoots better.
For some reason I feel the M1891 Argentine carbine has more recoil though.
Bang 12" steel at 100 yards is all I care about any milsurp doing.

Lots of tinkering capabilities with those Mosins. You can drift the front sights, put the brass (or I just do shrink wrap) then clip/slide/cut the post so its POA at 100 yards. cork shimming stock, You can even do some brass shims where the stock hits the metal to make more accurate too.

Willtill, I think those groups @ 100 yards are darn good and would please me just fine!
GuitarmanNick, That is just amazing accuracy out of iron sights, if the gun could shoot that, my eyes could not.

Mosins are my favorite guns to light off tannerite. Nothing more satisfying than shooting a grapefruit sized container of tannerite at 150 or so yards with open sights and a rifle that pre-dates back 80+ years.

Another fine, fine day at the AGC. Very pleased how this Mauser is shooting.
