The frame and slide should be forged by Vulcan himself in the fires of Hades.

But, if Vulcan is running a CNC Milling Machine and using billet steel than that would be acceptable also.

I chose polymer, because REAL 1911s have polymer frames, accessory rails, double stack mags.. And are chambered in... Thats right.... .40s&w!!! Am i joking!?!

Of the three I own, I have one 1911 in .45 ACP. Two are carbon steel, one is stainless. .45 ACP is a bright nickeled RIA I picked up last year. The nickeled milspec sights suck in daylight. They're getting swapped out, along with the nickeled trigger and grip safety.

The best frame is Beryllium Copper.

They should be made by all those materials. There are good 1911's out there with all utilizing all those manufacturing materials. Depends on purpose of the pistol. That said, I'll check the forged (also many are barstock) carbon steel since I prefer it. I don't have a problem with a good cast frame, hence I like Caspian Arms and Foster Industries frames.
