Convinced my bride that metal business cards are a nice touch… She was cool with me acquiring a fiber laser. Of course I’ve got the business card templates mocked up - but I’m having way to much fun doing custom engraving for my favorite hobby! Just messed around with a couple of files but I’ve got Pmags and aluminum dialed in (need to clean up my templates to get a more wrap around approach on the Pmag camo files).

Anybody wants to make your mags have more “character”… if you find yourself on the shore hit me up. :p

I forgot to grab photos of the mythosaur skull I put on hard coat aluminum, but it came out deep and 4k UHD clear….

Nice, I didn't know lasers spit out colors.
Yes and no. PMAG plastic reacts differently to different heat/speed so it will do gray, tan, and brown on plastic. The pricier models can do similar on metal.
Can you do stippling with it?
Absolutely - I’m getting ready to put some Austrian Tupperware under it ;)
I like that. What model laser did you get?
Cloudray Raycus; only 20w (goes up to 100 for marking - but that is five digit territory) so it will do most everything but color annealing on steel (MOPA starts around $4k to do that), just a bit slower on some jobs then the higher wattage options

While I had Austrian Tupperware out…

Decided I’d see how it works out to make a BBQ gun (it’s on the cleanup pass) - used a random vector file. This slide is old enough it could be sacrificial if this one didn’t work out…
