So I was wondering what this place was? I just saw that HoCo terminated their lease. Is this a place I should have visited? It’s right down the street from me.

It's an empty building that was going to be a farm museum. Lots of dreams with not enough funding. Some good people wanted to keep the Howard County farming legacy alive.
Both my parents grew up on farms in Howard County.

We were outside tonight talking to the neighbors who's oldest is in middle school. Very nice young lady who told us that her bus has been late both ways every day this week, and that on Monday afternoon the driver was asking the kids where to go and eventually dropped them at a church which is about six blocks from their stop.

Annapolis Bus Co. Had to bring in out of town management last year from AACO because the local management team was messing up so badly.

The guy who runs this site (and probably wrote this) comes off as a pretentious dickhead online, but it's a very well done summation of the current cluster and how we got here through the failed leadership of Martirano. He doesn't come out and directly call for his scalp like I would have, but other than that pretty well done.

School bus systems were run for years and years without computers-without electronic maps and without GPS---But Zum has "systems"

Wife and I both work in Howard (APL), live up in Carroll (Eldersburg). She's been following this, having an officemate with kids from HoCo. Makes me incredibly glad I didn't pay the higher taxes, HOAs and housing price for a place in HoCo when we moved here 8.5 years ago - multiple incidents with their schools (this, the redistricting a few years back). CC isn't perfect, to be sure, but sure ain't bad (at least right now).

The more I learn about this the madder I get about the fact that the county abandoned the local bus contractors - county citizens who were locally employed- in favor of hiring a company literally across the country. It doesn't look like they saved any money so what are the taxpayers and school students getting out of this? (besides the future promise of an electric school bus)

I didn’t know any of this. I was just talking about the timing.

It is not about saving money. I think more kids will be walking to and from school. Better exercise for the kids.
