In a pinch, laying it on something like a balled up towel and holding it down with one foot has worked for me in the past. just be very gentle and careful.

Measure the barrel. If less than 16" the muzzle device may be pinned and welded. If its at the rear of the lower a towel, soft hammer taps on the back of a flathead screw driver may work. If not call Chad leave a voicemail mentioning sexual favors. He'll be there in 5 minutes tops.

If it was properly installed it'll be staked in place. Look around the edges for little dents in it. It'll break loose, but you either need an armorers wrench with a cheater bar, or a monkey wrench and a new nut.

Do you mean the flash hider? Or is there a jam nut tightened up against a brake/flash hider/other muzzle device that does not index on the shoulder or crush washer?

99% of brakes/flash hiders I have removed come off with an armorer's wrench (or 3/4" open end box wrench for standard A2 and most others works in a pinch) with no more than maybe 15-20 ft/lb of torque max. Suppressor mounts can be on a little tighter but even with Rocksett, if it was installed properly shouldn't come off with much effort.

If it won't BUDGE either the threads are ruined, or it is soldered or pinned on. Most pinned muzzle devices are not that bad to remove but should be done by an armorer or gunsmith. If the threads are destroyed - I have seen it happen when people put a 3' cheater bar to remove a pinned device - you will have to cut the barrel back and have it re-threaded, and go from there depending on its final length.

PM me if you have questions.

Find someone with a vice, a reciever vice block and amorers tool. Do it right, no sense screwing up your reciever by cranking and breaking/bending something.
