Has anybody been to the Fred Bear archery museum? I think it closed in 2003 and was bought by Bass Pro. Some of the items and his trophies were displayed in one of the Bass Pro stores.
Mainly I'm interested in bows made by a bowyer named Mike Elchin. Mr. Elchin lived in Portage, PA. Mike told me back in 1974 that someone told him Fred Bear credited Elchin with inventing the first successful SHORT recurve bow and one of Elchin's bows was on display in the museum although he could never substantiate any of this.
