Taurus is hit or miss with their guns. Their clones are good but their own designs are hit or miss. you will get a lot of opinions but ultimately its your call.

have you tried other guns as well. I will not bash a taurus, I like their beretta clones, 1911 clones and like the revolvers they offered even though i do not own any of the revolvers. I own a Taurus Beretta and PT111 both do what they are supposed to do. Just be prepared for the hate.

I have one and I love it. Most of my other pistols are FNs, so I may be an odd duck.

Have over 1k rounds through it now, and never a single hiccup.

My favorite trigger of any of the micro 9s, and the reason it got on my radar in the first place.

I use the larger backstrap, which felt a little awkward at first, but feels perfect now.

I like mine and love the trigger. I have a tx22 competition and that's what made me look at the gx4, because I love that damn thing. I only have 100 rounds through it, but no trouble so far. It feels better in hand and is less snappy than my buddy's hellcat. It was also half the price. I didn't want an optic for a carry piece, so I went with the standard version. I'm going to add the Lakeline pinky extensions and Taurus gold barrel and shoot it lots. I ordered a Warriorland holster from the Amazonians for $26, which arrives tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.

I have had several gun store owners tell me that Taurus over the last several years, has gone from one of their most returned/serviced brands to one of their least returned/serviced brands.

I get that a lot of people still feel the way they do about them, but to have the kind of sentiment change I have seen, in this industry, is nothing short of miraculous.

I've been looking into this model pretty heavily. It has a known trigger issue that the trigger dies if it's not pulled straight back. Multiple trips back to Taurus doesn't address the issue long term. Look into it before making a decision if you are looking at it for a SD gun.

It doesn't appear to impact all guns and it comes with round count. Meaning people who are aware have tested it in the store fine and the problem starts after 50-100 rounds.

I have no issues with Taurus and really wanted the GX4 until finding that out. Just not worth the risk when there are other options out there without that risk.

The G2C and G3C are generally well regarded but are larger than the GX4.

What is funny some of the legacy brands (S&W, Remington, etc) had times in their existence where QA/QC fell off and they had high returns/repairs as well.

Well, just not native to Taurus, but pretty much any modern manufactured handgun rarely needs to be cleaned. Lubed however, is a different story. They need to be slick.

I rented one along with a M&P Shield and a P365. I loved everything about it but it wasn't as accurate (for me) as the others. At 5yds, my 10-shot group was like 5" for the GX4, vs 2" for both the 365 and M&P. I loved everything else about it, and I still hit the silhouette, but I plan to get the M&P for my EDC.

I think I'm still going to get a GX4 since it's so cheap, and see if more practice or developing some custom reloads will tighten up the accuracy (or maybe just a different one will shoot better).

I have owned numerous Taurus pistols and have competed in IDPA with the 24/7 and PT111. Are they as refined as the Sig 365? No, but they are serviceable and with a fluff and buff, they can be smoother. For the money, they are good guns and the customer service is very good as well. I have never had to send one back to them but I have had them send me parts and have spoken to their technicians. They were very helpful dealing with my issues.

On the other hand, dealing with Ruger and Remington, have been nightmarish. One case a 870 with a popped off ejector right out of the box and a Ruger Blackhawk with over clocked sights that they didn't even want to bother with.

    I have shot the GX4 and, if I didn't have a P365, I would buy it.

This right here ( as edited ) !

Not so much Teflon's results , but that you should testfire various guns to see how they work for You , in Your hands .
