My gsg5 (not pistol) james pretty frequently but thats because of the crappy bulk 22 and I don't clean it as often as i should. I clean it after every shoot but you should run a bore snake through that thing ever couple hundred rounds at the range, that bluk ammo is CRAP.
Shoot nothing but bulk Remington junk in my GSG. One trick I use is to rap the loaded magazine against a sandbag or solid surface to align the rounds before loading. Slight misalignment can cause failure to feed.
This was a trick that was taught by the "old school" Army DI's when firing
the M14--you hit the back of the 20 rd mag against your steel pot helmet
