Correct, you will need a threaded barrel adapter if you want to suppress it.

What is the big deal about sending in 4473? You have to send in your address to register your gun with them anyways.

Worth it?

Even if they are not as reliable as the top setups they are about 1/3 the price. Most of the pros who shoot Steel Challenge rimfire and shoot a 1911 frame use either a TacSol or Marvel conversion. Those can run $500 just for the conversion kit. And TS wide body mags for an STI run close to $100 each. So at those prices a GSG 1911-22 can look like a pretty good deal.

Definitely worth $179. I paid twice that for mine when they first came out, and would do so again. And ATI's warranty service is pretty good, too, if you need it.
