Have the opportunity to buy a garland from a private seller. Just wondering if there were any "accesories" they came with? Kind of like the Mosins. These were apparently bought a long time ago. Also what would be the "preferred" garand? If I have a choice. He is selling because of a divorce. I will keep everyone posted on the possible chance to purchase what he has remaining.

Sorry but I haven't even seen them myself yet. I just found out about them yesterday at 10 pm. I am waiting on a friend to let me know what the deal may be. He has a LOT if firearms he needs to sell. I will keep the C&R thread posted. Now answer my question :)

garand's have accessories, seldom come with them though. A clip is a must.

There are slings, cleaning kits, grenade launchers, oilers, bayonets and on and on and on....

The ultimate M1 Garand accessory - a 1945 Willys MB jeep, of course. All the rest is just window dressing. Seriously, Google is your friend with your question about accessories.

Become a member of the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP). CMP has a website (www.odcmp.com) where you can find information (open to non members), buy firearms, ammo, parts, and accessories.

Currently, CMP has bayonets, cleaning rods, various parts, ammo, and enbloc clips for Garands.

They also just recently opened a Garand custom/armory shop, and had an armorer class (which is supposed to offered again this fall/ winter).

The ultimate Garand "accessory" which are coming harder and harder to find are the WW-II and Korean vets that carried one. Their experiences and insights are invaluable.

Thanks to ALL that have served!

If you can get an enbloc or a few that would be nice. Otherwise nothing to worry about.

Winny and IHC seem to be preferred but I love my HRA.

Thanks for the answers. I realize Google will work but I am currently in a barn all week at the Montgomery county fair. I appreciate the help . The person selling the guns is going to inventory them soon and I will post a list and contact info.when this is done.

Here are what I consider the bare minimums:

Original US M1 bayonet from the CMP (you must get your paperwork in order and join a CMP affiliate club).
    https://estore.thecmp.org/store/catalog/catalog.aspx?pg=catalogList&cat=BAY

Repro M1923 cartridge belt from At The Front.

    or for the USMC version:
    https://www.atthefrontshop.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=USGBMCB

Repro M1907 sling from Turner Sling. The seconds are the best deal.
