Mailed my FL renewal Wed. I used the UT training when I got it in '16.

Quick question on the prints and training. I live in Frederick and am in the process of collecting info on the Florida permit also. Does anyone know who does prints in Frederick County that are Florida approved AND my Maryland training (both classroom and live fire) was performed by a USCCA trainer, who also is a Maryland approved Handgun instructor. I obviously have my MSP score sheet. Is this certified score sheet acceptable in Florida? Any feedback would be appreciated.

It’s worth calling the folks at Heritage just south of town off 85. They did my prints for MD and while I could have had them done at FCSO, Heritage was open weekends and it worked better for my schedule.

ETA - looks like FL requires prints by LEO - see post by six pack above

UPDATE: No joke, but I got my permit in-hand about 2 weeks after mailing my application. No issues whatsoever.

I used my MD training with no issues. I applied online 5/25/23. Mailed my prints on 6/2. They cashed my money order on 6/7 and sent me approval on 6/13. Waiting on my permit, should be in the mail any day now. If I would have mailed my prints the same day i applied I believe I would have had the permit in hand already. They processed my application before I had gotten the prints done, within one week of submitting. So get your prints then submit online and mail same day. Very fast process.
Received permit 6/20/23. 26 days total.

As of July 1st, Florida no longer requires permits for concealed carry. According to a link in this video (if you watch it on youtube) the only requirement is to be a US citizen, and the usual not a drunk or drug addict, convicted felon, etc. and there are prohibited places.

I went through the process to get Maine for reciprocity for DE. It was very simple. No issues and I used my Md carry class for the requirement in Maine. No issues. Sent the paperwork and had the license in two weeks.
Good to hear. I started suggesting it to my students this week.
