    hi all,

listing two handguns on gunbroker and I am way out of my league. Im not necessarily worried about what happens when I actually sell them (know I need to bring them to a FFL etc) but more so worried about being scammed on payment since it doesn’t seem like they have a CC process like eBay through the site. Can anyone give me some details about do’s and dont’s? I also don’t want to break any of their terms and conditions. I had one guy message me and ask to text him additional photos and gave me his number. Just seems sus.

    Thank you!!

Suggest payment by USPS money order only. Don't ship until payment is received. Little chance of you being scammed that way. Personally I wouldn't send extra pics to a cell phone, I'd add more pics to the listing and tell the bidder what you've done.

You can ship to the buyers FFL but get a signed copy from the buyer first. Shipment will have to be UPS or FedEx and I believe they both require overnight delivery for handguns so it'll be expensive. Might be cheaper to have an FFL do the shipment, FFL to FFL can go USPS.

Thanks! Yeah I’m def going to bring it to my FFL and have them handle all of that (they gave me an offer for the 2 I’m selling and said nope, sell them on gunbroker than bring to me and I’ll ship for you). I did put payment with USPS money order so woohoo! And good idea on adding more pictures to the listing. Thanks so much!

Have them pay via Postal Money Order.

You have to be "licensed" and have an account and be approved to ship UPS and FedEx, only FFL can ship handguns USPS. UPS will not even ship ammo or parts such as barrels or triggers.
The exact language is on their websites and discussed elsewhere on this forum.
You pretty much have to ship handguns through an FFL.

I haven't done this in a while. Learn something new every day. I have sold handguns on gunbroker and shipped them UPS myself but it's been a while. Anyway, has to be through a dealer now; not surprising.

I think they changed all this last October, they caved to pressure from the liberals.
You can check for yourself, don't take my word or anyone's word for it on a forum.

I did check just to make sure, mostly because I saw a sign in the local UPS a few months ago that they would not ship firearms, parts or ammo. At that time I'm pretty sure their web site had instructions how to ship that kind of thing. Not sure when exactly that was.

I'm sure they caved, honestly I'm surprised they'll let licensee's ship.

Had to send my Ruger SR 1911 back to the factory 2 weeks ago. Ruger emailed me a shipping label. Boxed the gun up, slapped on the label, walked right into our FedEx hub and dropped it off. No fuss, no muss, no questions.

Yes, that's a way companies are working around it. They have a partnership with FedEx and/or UPS. They have pre-approved accounts and agree to the new rules thus taking on the responsibility. One of the stipulations is the gun has to be shipped in a new unmarked box. They send the shipping label so essentially they are the shipper, many gun companies are doing this now.
There's also a shipping service called shipmygun.com or something like that. I think they are affiliated with Bud's Guns. I never used them but I've heard good reviews. They do the same thing, send you a shipping label and claim with their discount rates they can help you ship a gun cheaper than you could yourself.
