    Had a little P22 shipped in to my FFL in Feb. 18
    Did paperwork on 23 sent in next day.
    got the call today paperwork os back
    This is the seventh firearm those year.so background shouldn't of been a problem.
    If i have gun sent to my Dad in DE and then we got to MSP is that a straw purchase

    IANAL, but if your father purchases and transfers the gun to you and you are legally able to own it, it is not a straw purchase.

    If you go through MSP it's not a straw purchase.

    If your dad is a resident of Delaware, I'm pretty sure you'd still have to transfer at a ffl. MSP doesn't handle interstate transfers, right?

    If you're dad buys it and gives it to you it is. But if you're the one buying it I'm notsure

    Doesn't matter who picks up the tab. It only matter whose name goes on the paperwork.

    It looks like he just wants to buy something and have it shipped to DE so his father can claim it, just to get it in his own personal "pipeline" if you will, and then have his father transfer it to him through an MD dealer when he's eligible for another regulated firearm purchase.

    Must be a rare gun he's after. Definitely not a straw purchase though.
