Dumb @ss Mosin question

As the title says, dumb question. How do you tell which model is which? I see people asking about 91/30s all the time. I have a Mosin, all I know about it is that it has a hex receiver. What markings will tell me more about it?

Op: so what did you get and found out about your mosin?

1. If the barrel is about 31" long, and the front sight is a blade, it could be a M91
2. If the barrel is about 29" long and the front sight is a round hood with a pin sticking up in it, could be a 91/30.
3. If it has a "D", "SA" "SY" "T" in a triangle, a little gear with a "S" stamped in it,it could be Finnish.
