I was taking apart my new Gen 4 G21 and I noticed a little notch on the upper right corner of the very bottom of the channel. However I can't see if it is by design, or a piece of debris. I don't recall seeing this in my Gen 3 G19. My understanding is that the firing pin channel is the one part of the Glock that should really be kept clean. (I keep everything clean, though.)

Can anyone offer any insight? Thanks a lot.

That little tiny notch all the way at the bottom on the top right corner.

    Have you fired it yet?

If so, did it have any issues, such as light strikes?

If it ran fine, then keep running it - no harm no foul.

Nevermind, I get the "Idiot of the Day" award. It's the firing pin safety in it's "blocked" position. *smacks head on desk*

Beat me to it. Better bribe the mods to delete this thread for you. ;)

haha. yep. I don't know what the hell I was thinking. Im watching a movie and dry firing...and I take my slide off, notice a lot of lube in top of the firing pin channel...take my slide cover plate off and striker assembly down...wipe it out with some alcohol and Q tips. (not regular q tips, the G-Tips, for those about to criticize the use of Q-tips :-P) and noticed this thing at the end of the channel. Wasn't thinking, obviously.

"What the hell is that? *Scratches head*" :innocent0
