DNR Qualification & Public Sight-in

We had a very successful public DNR Shooter Qualification on Sunday the 25th August at BERWYN Rod & Gun Club. Our next scheduled event is September 8, 2024 from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M.

The MD DNR Qualification is bow, shotgun, muzzleloader and rifle straight wall cartridges will provide individuals with an official Maryland DNR Qualification Card which is required for Deer hunting on some state, county and federal properties, for special managed hunts throughout the hunting seasons.

Another successful day at BERWYN with the DNR Qualifications. A few hunters just came to only sight-in their firearms, from flintlock to straight walled.

Nice crowd of DNR Q's, great seeing a few females walking away with their Q-Card.

I went to one of those at Meade years ago.
I was up next and the guy in front of me was shooting an 870.
When he made his second shot, the action of the shotgun let go.
Back then you had to place three shots out of five or something from standing into a pie plate at maybe 40 yards to get the qual.
He was a left hand shooter using a right handed gun and it peppered his arm all to hell.
So someone let him borrow a gun and he made his next shot right on the money.
He was determined all to hell to get what he needed.

When you arrive, the club house is outside the gate. Go into the club house to sign up. He will direct you from there.

So yes, you just show up.

Made it down to qualifications,, met "Beobill" (or someone claiming to be him)
Very nice crew down at the club,, Thinking hard about joining,, kind of my only real option at a 100 yard range living in Northern Calvert Co.

Glad you were able to make it, what firearms did u Q with?

Shotgun,, H&R 20ga Ultra Slugger with the T-hole stock.
1st 2 shots were 1 jagged hole top center of bullseye, 3rd was 3/4" off to the left, Happy happy

Had a great experience at Berwyn today. Qual’d quickly then had a longer chat in the clubhouse. Also strongly considering a membership.

Unfortunately the managed hunts I am in are for Shotgun or SWC
