I dunno, I've had admin ask me about it because coworkers joked about it to them because they know I'm in to guns and 2a stuff in general. If a teacher were to do this, that teacher should park off-property.
How else would they have known she had it if she hadn't told someone, they called the police, and them she admitted it or it was discovered on search l?

I mean, I've never said it and have denied it when asked, but I've still been asked by admin about it. In my case, I've also had leftist activists within the county target me personally because I openly challenge the lefty indoctrination stuff in schools. If she didn't keep it to herself, that was a bad decision.

    Soo many questions:
    • Did she have a carry permit?
    • Did she threaten anyone to cause them to rat her out?
    • Is the gun hers or hubbies who left it in the car?
    • Is the car hers or a common family car?
    • Did she know the gun was in the car or did she suspect it was in the car after being notified?

The question is why are states that prohibit teachers from carrying not taking the safety of their students seriously?

    Was it otherwise stored properly.

I get it that she was "on their property" and it is what it is to an extent because people can enforce their own rules on their property but holy he-double-hockey-sticks, what's the alternative? Can't leave it locked in the car, got to leave it at home? That's not going to work

AACPS teacher arrested after loaded handgun found in car on school grounds

Anne Arundel County police said they arrested 29-year-old Charese Thompson, an employee at Seven Oaks Elementary School for having a loaded handgun in their car on school property.

Officers received information that an employee had a loaded handgun in their car and made contact with Thompson.

She advised there was a loaded handgun under the driver's seat and was charged.

There is no information that the weapon was brought into the school or any threats were made.
They didn't mention whether or not she has W&C permit. I realize that on school property it makes no difference but it still would be interesting to know. We are all obviously aware how well the no guns on school property works. It definitely keeps the violent criminals away.

i remember a pic on this forum a little while back that showed a teacher and a student in PG county HS in 1968 sitting outside the school both armed during the riots.

Well, you might as well not even have one if you are going to leave it in the car. Does you no good when a gunman is rolling through the hallways.

It might if the teacher needs to drive through baltimore to get home. I suppose theoretically it would also give her the potential option of dipping out to grab it and come back in, provided she was free from students at the time or otherwise able to go get it and come back. I think the biggest thing would just be the commute there and back.

I think many male and female teachers have died using their bodies as shields to protect their kids...sooo.... yes?
