So the Dems we’re trying to get GOP support to amend the constitution but were blocked. So the Dems went ahead and passed a law they knew was unconstitutional

    Adit,

Just wonderful decision by DE Supreme Court defending Delaware's Constitution. The House passed these Bills well knowing they be over turned. So with that said surprised DSSA didn't file a "State" case due to 2A protections in DE Constitution? Federal District Court won't hear the case until next year with out a current "stay" on the assault/magazine ban.

    What say you?

    IANAL.

They may think that it is either too risky to file in-state/waste of time. You'd possibly be asking for a Bruen-esque decision based on DE law. The DE judges may not interpret DE's "2A enshrinement" the same as Justice Thomas does with the Bill of Rights. At that point you'd be where we are today, in Federal Court looking for relief.

Text, History, and Tradition may ultimately provide for faster relief than any other method of 2A challenge.

Since they filed in Federal Court they are now on the "list", challenging another (their) states arbitrary ban on magazine capacity. With other states currently challenging the same, relief may come from an existing case before DE's filing is even considered.

I think that DSSA does a less than stellar job of disseminating plans and progress on DE legislative issues. Membership finds out info from other sources far sooner than they do from DSSA. Their newsletter is sent out every 2 months. This is far from adequate communication with any membership base.

Thanks Audit for the reply, agree

What's also amazing DE doesn't have a State forum like MDS, thought DSSA might add one after they started using Constant Contact that our club suggested when DSSA held a meeting with all DE clubs several years ago. The issue MDS has more volunteers than DSSA.

There is a DE CCW forum. It has 1 millionth of the traffic MDS has.
