    Hey all,

Picked up a DD5 v4 in 308 recently. I need to change out the muzzle device. On my 5.56 rifles I use a Geissele reaction rod to secure the upper in a vice to ensure nothing gets damaged when I torque on it. They do make a reaction rod in 308 but it specifically says not compatible with DD5 V4.

    So my questions are two:

    1. Any Daniel Defense owners know why this rifle is different? I thought it was a standard AR-10 platform but apparently not?

    2. What would be the best device to secure the upper to a vice so I can go torque on it without breaking something?

    Thanks

No idea on your question but I recently shot the v3 and it was the softest shooting AR-10 I've shot. Where'd you get the v4 and was it a good price? Seriously considering one vice building out a DPMS pattern.

If anyone from google ever finds this thread in the future, DD says the Midwest Industries rod is good to go.
