Be aware that CZ shotguns are not made by CZ. They are imported by CZ-USA from Huglu in Turkey. The general opinion of these guns is that though they might be OK for limited use such as hunting or targets a couple of times a year, that they will most likely not hold up to the higher volume encountered in target shooting.

In that same general price range, a used Browning or Beretta sporter is a much better choice. Also, one of the best guns you can buy in that range would be a Beretta 391 Sporter (autoloader). A lot of new shooters, for whatever reason, are drawn to O/Us and that just fine. However, to enjoy a trouble free gun for volume shooting, it really begins at the Browning and Beretta level. Another thing to consider would be resale. Brownings and Berettas and other good quality guns hold their value fairly well.

Before you buy, hook up with a couple of the guys from up your way and let them give you some guidance and perhaps shoot a few different guns before taking that plunge. Good luck.
